My name is John Naylor. I reside in Lafayette, LA. My Aunt was married to Frederick Spilker (see attached photo) who was a Chief Engineer for the Isthmian Steamship Lines. He was employed by the company from about the mid 1930's to approximately 1949 - 1952. I recall her saying that his vessel was the S.S. Steel Navigator but the only documentation I have is a 3in. by 5in. notebook of what appears to be a "sailing log", two pages of which I have attached. Frederick Spilker was born in Brooklyn, New York on 8 Feb 1891 and passed away in 1989 at the age of 98. I reviewed the "Isthmian" web site but found no information about him. Perhaps some member of the web site may have some documentation of his employment and activities, your assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
